Day 24- Start of the country stores

Day 24- Start of the country stores

Hi,
We had a hint that the mountains were coming, but we really didn't realize the rural areas we were headed to. Soon after we packed up and headed down the road we happened to run into James the farmer again, and he let us know we would have to go through Churchville if we wanted a town. Levis phone had no signal and not being able to look at a map was a bit challenging. Not too long after we saw Zachs Country Store and him and his dad were very helpful with  giving us some directions. We even walked away with some printed up and in a plastic sleeve. I had not seen tgoo many country stores, and I liked what I saw.
We used our printed directions to guide us along, but we were not sure how far it was until we reached the next town. We ran into Jenny in her driveway and chatted for a minute about the crazy storm that came through a few weeks earlier. She also said the next country store was about six miles up. In those few minutes we chatted the weather took a dramatic shift. As we walked away we watched the clouds move in and it started to rain heavily. It was the hardest and longest rain section we encountered thus far. We pushed through those six miles and were so happy to see the country store ahead. Jenny mentioned they might not be serving food on the weeksay, so we were ecstatic when we saw that we could order a pizza. The Hunts Brother's PiZza did us right. Once again, the country store came through!
At that point we took the turn onto Deerfield Valley Road which was thirty miles. We figured finding a camp spot shouldn't be hard. About three miles in there was a creek that caught our eye, afterall, it has been a few days since a shower. We ended up walking by a Methodist Church and crossed the creek by its parking lot. It was a fantastic camp spot and we slept great.
With best regards,
Shikira
