Day 33- Another 27 Mile Day

Day 33- Another 27 Mile Day

Hi,
The morning of day 33 was quite chilly. We packed up and had a thirty mile goal in mind since we had all the power snacks from Ray Froy. Before we left we ate the goo stuff, and it was not what I was expecting, if you can't tell from the photo. I had seen a sign for McDonalds the day before, so I had that in mind. We made it the three hours of walking and ate some lunch. We went on, and I was feeling kinda tired. On our break we ate the shot blocks, and I don't know if it was placebo or they really worked, but the hour and a half after I felt good.
The whole day we had been on the same highway, and I was surprised at how little we saw. In fact, at one point we wanted to take a break but we found no water sources or gas stations to fill our empty water bottles. I'll admit that I freaked out a little. With the salty McDonalds and power foods we were eating I felt especially thirsty. Luckily, the crew at Cuza BBQ invited us into the kitchen only a couple minutes after and filled us up with ice cold water and Powerade. It was great timing, and I was soo thankful!
We realized there was not enough light left in the day to make our thirty mile goal, but we ended up walking a lot farther than we anticipated to find a camping spot. The wait was with it, because we ended up meeting Henry and his son, Josh, and it was  motivating talking to them. We found a gravel road and went a ways down until we found a power sub station to camp next to. We made twenty seven miles again, and it felt great!
Getting Stronger,
Shikira
