Day 64- Packless

Day 64- Packless

Yeeee,

Woke up in the morning to fresh brewed coffee. Zach had promised to get us up, but of course you can't trust a 4 year old to do anything (big smile). Ashley invited us to stay for a second night and we were more than happy to accept. Kira then asked if it would be ok to walk without the packs, given that we would be getting picked up after our 20 miles anyways. I didn't see a problem with it and we decided that we would just take one pack with a waterbladder, filter, and snacks. We walked down the driveway free and wieghtless.

For breakfast we stopped at Brenda's Kitchen for an all you can eat buffet and it was only 7 bucks. I was really happy they had salad and Shikira wolfed down a ton of peanutbutter and chocolate pie. I have been looking at what it would take to build an off the grid tiny house and since I knew I would be able to charge my phone this evening I was looking at tiolet options.

After Brenda's we headed onto some back country roads, the first of which was bear creak. We were on this for a long while and then the rest of the day was really just right, left, right, left.... We ran into a couple of very loud little dogs, but other than that the day was rather uneventful. Eventually we popped out on a main vain and called for a ride. We made it another 3 miles on the main road until Ashley told us to stop walking. After 18 miles of not having much wieght on our backs we were suprised that our feet still hurt. No worries though, Ashley was on her way to treat us to another great dinner (meatloaf, my favorite) and a cozy bed. After dinner we chatted for a while before hitting the sack.

To a change of pace,

Levi
