Day 165- Cinnamon Rolls

Day 165- Cinnamon Rolls

Yes!

What's better that cinnamon rolls for dinner... Back to back dinner then breakfast cinnamon rolls. Two rolls each, we were well sugared for our entry into California. Our sugar high in combination with the coffee lead to a very energetic Colorado river crossing. California California California!!! We were so excited to be in our home state. A homeless man told us that we were in a crappy state and we informed him that it was the best one and that it was our home. Pushing forward, we got pictures with the state line signs.

Blythe was waiting for us on the other side of the river and we didn't know exactly what to expect. The town was a bit run down, but it felt like home. Albertsons offered up some supplies and Christmas presents. Down the road we hit Starbucks to get some days on the website. Further down the road I convinced Kira to let us stop once more, this time for Mexican food. I got machaca for the second time (the first time was much better). Our food was good, but the restaurant was a bit grimey. They were playing daytime television and we were the only ones eating. In the back they offered massages, but the signs were all hand written in Crayola. We laughed at the ridiculous place as we headed toward sandy roads.

BLM land was hard pushing and we did our best to get a couple more miles in. Finally we decided that following a thirty mile day and a twenty mile insane hike we would hit the sack early. I built a large fire while Kira hung out in the tent. We watched the fire burn out and eventually dozed off.

To a great state,

Levi
