Day 173- Sushi Time

Day 173- Sushi Time

Hi,

We woke up pretty early to the smell of Uncle Jose's cookies. I drank a cup of coffee, ate several cookies, and then we got into his truck to head back to Carl's Jr. He dropped us off and we were walking by 8:15, the earliest start time in a while. The beginning of the walk was pretty easy. We had packed a light backpack with water, but were excited to eat a tasty lunch. One of the most memerable things of the day is when a huge pit bull jumped over his 8 foot fence to show us his face and bark at us. Boy, did he catch me by surprise!

We were loving having sidewalk the whole day. We reached the area where a ton of food options were available and decided on some sushi. Compared to the Davis/College prices we were used to it was a little expensive, but it was very, very delicious. Sushi is something we rarely eat on the trip (maybe only once before?). Levi had found a $20 Target Gift Card, so we stopped by there and also said hi to my cousin, Rebecca, who ws at work nearby.

We continued on through the valley. Usually, I rarely go past Rancho Mirage when I am down there, so it was crazy walking all the way to the edge of Palm Springs. I talked to my sister on the phone a bit and we finally ended at a car dealership where my Auntie Nay picked us up again. We went back to her house, ate some tasty tacos, and were exhausted from the full day of 22.7  miles of walking. I put on Lord of the Rings (first one) for a couple minutes, but realized I would stay up and watch the whole thing if I didn't turn it off, so I saved myself from sleep deprivation and pressed the power button to the tv.

A sold day of walking,

Shikira
