Day 4- A Holiday of Sorts

Day 4- A Holiday of Sorts

Happy forth of July everyone,

The morning began with eggs and bacon courtesy of Anna and her amazing family. Well.... Really the morning began with rain, but on the bright side we got to sleep in until 8. After hitting the road we astonished ourselves with a brisk 5 miles. Determined to eat our heavy food we sat down for an ant infested picnic. Then we set out for another five miles in the 90 degree heat. Kira missed her moody moons even though her blisters were worse than ever. To our pleasant surprise Heidi invited us to her home for a quick dip in the pool. After eating her "slutty brownies*" (her word, not mine * and Oreo baked between a brownie and a cookie) we said our goodbyes and headed toward Washington crossing. The Delaware river treated us well and allowed us to cool off once again before crossing into pennsylvania. At first Pennsylvania seemed a little uninviting, but we were quickly disproved when after Paul said that we could stay in his back yard and his families shower. We accepted initially before realizinng that night walking on the fourth was a bad idea. Fortunately in another good turn of fate we were offered a care package by a passer-byer named Dave. He met up with us a couple miles down the road with a feast that even included dessert. He too offered us a place to stay, but at this point we were standing on a bridge over a geourgous creek and decided to pitch our tent. With full stomachs and happy hearts we are now set up to sleep comfortably on this joyous independence day. Thanks to all those who made our holiday special.

To another wonderful day, Levi
